Garmin Consumer Limited Warranty

General Information

• This warranty provides specific legal rights; additional rights may vary by state, country, or province.

• Garmin does not limit any rights you may have under applicable laws.

• Consult your local laws for a full understanding of your rights.

Coverage

• Applies to non-aviation Garmin products.

• Warranty Period: 1 year from the original purchase date.

• Garmin will, at its discretion:

  • Repair the product with new or refurbished parts

  • Replace the product with a new or Garmin Recertified unit

  • Refund the full purchase price

• Repairs and replacements are free of charge for parts and labor, but shipping costs are the customer’s responsibility.

Exclusions – Warranty Does NOT Cover:

• Cosmetic damage (scratches, dents, etc.)

• Consumable parts (e.g., batteries), unless due to a defect in workmanship

• Damage from:

  • Accidents, abuse, misuse, or natural disasters (fire, flood, etc.)

  • Unauthorized service or repairs

  • Use of non-Garmin cables, adapters, or accessories

  • Product modifications without written Garmin approval

• Products used in violation of local laws

• Navigation inaccuracies or errors in map data

• Signal interference caused by nearby cellular or broadband devices

Limitations

• To the maximum extent allowed by law:

  • Garmin disclaims all other warranties (express, implied, statutory), including implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose.

• If implied warranties cannot be excluded, they are limited to the original warranty period (1 year).

• Garmin is not liable for incidental, special, indirect, or consequential damages.

Repair & Replacement Terms

• Repaired/replaced products carry a 90-day warranty or the remainder of the original warranty—whichever is longer.

• This is the sole remedy for breach of warranty.

2. If the issue persists, contact a Garmin Authorized Service Facility:

   • In the U.S., call 1-800-800-1020.

   • Outside the U.S., follow regional instructions at support.garmin.com.

3. You may be responsible for customs, VAT, shipping, or import/export compliance if seeking service outside the country of purchase.

Special Notes

• Online Auctions: Purchases from online auctions are not eligible for warranty coverage or special offers.

• Proof of Purchase: Original sales receipt (or copy) from an authorized retailer is required for warranty service.

• International Purchases: Local warranties may apply depending on the region. U.S./Canada purchases must be returned to service centers in the U.S., Canada, UK, or Taiwan.

How to Check for Updates on Your Approach R50

1. Connect your device to Wi-Fi®

2. Press the menu button (bottom right corner)

3. Select Settings > Software Update

4. If an update is available, choose Download and Install

Note: Updates are usually downloaded automatically within a week of release when connected to Wi-Fi.
