Features
Crafted by Carl to deliver a true high-end built-in look, the Carl’s Built-In Golf Room Kit allows homeowners and commercial users to transform nearly any suitable room into a polished, luxury golf simulator space. The design enables turf to run seamlessly up to the impact screen for a clean, uninterrupted visual experience, with standard components typically including a Carl’s Place Premium Impact Screen, integrated screen mounting hardware, and blackout panels with mounting hardware. Best suited for rooms with straight, uniform 2x4 framed walls and no trim, this kit is ideal for those with basic carpentry or handyman skills, while alternative room layouts may require light customization to achieve the perfect fit.
Designed for a clean, precision fit, Carl’s Built-In Impact Screen integrates directly into your space without the need for external pipes, creating a streamlined, professional appearance. The system includes all necessary mounting components—corner cable anchors, pulley wheels, cables, releasable zip ties, and starter panels or hook-and-fastener tape—allowing you to fine-tune screen tension to balance bounce back control with optimal image clarity. Once installed, the screen flaps attach neatly for a polished finish, and every screen is expertly crafted at Carl’s Place headquarters in Milton, Wisconsin, by experienced golf simulator professionals to ensure long-lasting durability and performance.
Carl’s Golf Room Panels elevate your simulator space by softening and darkening your walls and ceiling while effectively acting as a protective enclosure. Easily mounted with French cleats and Z-clips, these heavy-duty panels shield your room from errant shots and are built with a padded foam core wrapped in fabric on both sides for durability and a clean finish. Custom-sized for your space and approximately 2"–2.5" thick, they provide confidence at address and peace of mind with every swing.
Carl’s Golf Room Curtains are the perfect complement to the Built-In Golf Room Kit, offering a flexible way to cover doors, windows, or open areas without permanent walls. Easily pulled into place for play and retracted when not in use, they’re ideal for both residential and commercial spaces, where they can also divide bays for added privacy. The light-blocking fabric enhances immersion, while the clean, finished look on both sides delivers a polished, professional appearance.

- Minimum Room Depth: 18 feet (includes 1-foot buffer space behind the screen, 10 feet from screen to tee, and 7 feet behind the tee)
- Minimum Room Width: 14 feet for tee-centered setup
- Minimum Room Height: A minimum of 9 feet is recommended for unrestricted swinging.
- Maximum Room Height: 11'. Must be able to frame out a shorter ceiling if ceilings are taller than 11'.
*If you plan on using an overhead launch monitor, most require the launch monitor to be positioned 9-10 feet in height from the turf to the launch monitor sensor.
Ideal for Installers Skilled in Construction/Trades
To achieve the built-in golf room look, you must:
- Have a space where a golf impact screen can be installed on an even plane, 1' away from the wall behind it.
- Be confident using laser levels to align all components.
- Be able to demo any trim boards that interfere with screen or panel placement.
- Anchor lag screws into the top and bottom plate of your walls.
- Have patience to tension and adjust your screen for a perfect fit.
- For the wall and ceiling panels, you must use a diagram we provide to visualize and lay out the panel placement.
- Attach cleats to studs in your walls, or use drywall anchors, then hang each individual panel until you cover the space.
To properly install this golf room kit, you must have the patience and technical aptitude to achieve all of the above. If any of this sounds out of your league shop our golf "Enclosures/Screens" section.
